Appreciation post: Lydbølgen

Over the coming weeks, we'd like to shine a light on the record shops that support our releases. The idea is to share a series of short profiles of the people who make a difference - not just for OTU, but for underground music as a whole.

In Fredericia, you'll find Lydbølgen. Fredericia has always had a strong metal and hardcore scene, with a thriving local music community (Lifesick, As We Fight and more). When the iconic record shop Lydsporet closed its doors in 2007 after 16 years of trading, it became difficult to buy records locally in the city. That was something Seva Grigoraki wanted to change when she opened Lydbølgen in 2024.
It's a big legacy to carry forward, but Seva has exactly the right mindset - and, just as importantly, plenty of heart. You can see it in the regular in-store events, the wide range of genres on offer, and the impressive selection of both new and second-hand records. And there's always a fresh pot of coffee on the go.

We're proud to have people like Seva championing our releases. So if you find yourself in Fredericia, make sure to drop by the basement shop at Prinsessegade 36.

Support your local record shop. 🖤
