VIDNET SINGLE PREMIERE! 

Vidnet is a new project forged by seasoned forces from Copenhagen’s underground, drawing upon the codes of extreme genres such as grindcore, sludge, war metal, and festering death. The lyrics are steeped in the literature and art of the turn of the century.

Who The Witness truly is remains a constant negotiation within the texts. The self is placed in shifting chambers, where it bears witness - either as victim or accomplice - to occult and medical experiments, power struggles, war, and other atrocities carried out in the service of a higher cause.

The name itself is an inverted etymological play on - and a critique of - the martyr, which originally meant witness: that in death, one confesses faith or bears witness to a higher truth.

The debut single “Bane-Saar” embodies this through the figure of a soldier, whose encounter with death on a desolate, smoke-drenched battlefield becomes a recognition of this mythical/ mystical truth of existence.
